Councilman Anthony Marino
Anthony Marino was born and raised in Hammonton. Anthony graduated Hammonton High School in 1981, and thereafter attended Camden County Community College, and studied Criminal Justice and Political Science.
After completing his education, he served as a Police Officer in Winslow Township from 1985 to 1995. In 1995, he started working for the NJ Department of Transportation.
Anthony has always been involved in his community. He was a Volunteer Firemen at the Elm Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1982 to 1985. He has been a member of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation since 1991. He, as a young man, witnessed Ronald Reagan’s historic Presidential visit to Hammonton. President Reagan inspired Anthony’s involvement in public service. Before his election to Council, Anthony was Chairman of the Shade Tree Commission. Anthony also served on the Zoning Board for two and one half years. In 2006, Anthony stood for election to Hammonton’s Town Council. After his election, he served as Chairperson of the Transportation Committee, Cochairman of the Parks & Recreation Committee, Chairman of Council’s “Green” Committee, Cochairman of the Education Committee and Chairman of the Public Works and Transportation Committee.
Some of Anthony’s accomplishments include working with Jerry Vitalo for the installation of Clean-Flo system at the Hammonton Lake. Started a program to restore abandoned properties to increase Tax Revenue, worked for an aggressive program to bring Business & Industry to Hammonton, developed a rehabilitation program for the Highway department vehicles, and helped institute the automation of trash pick-up in Town. Anthony was instrumental in keeping the medical helicopter in Hammonton.
Anthony promises to keep up his fight to improve the quality of life for everyone in Hammonton.
