Councilman Jerry Vitalo

Jerry Vitalo is a native of Hammonton. He is married to Patty, and has three children. He graduated from Hammonton High School in 1968. He then enrolled in the Atlantic County Community College and studied Applied Business.

Jerry is a skilled mason. He is the owner of Angelo DiSalvo Masonry, one of the oldest construction companies in the Town of Hammonton. In 2007, the Hammonton Chamber of Commerce recognized the founder of his business as one of the oldest and most respected businesses in the Town of Hammonton.

Jerry is a life long Republican. His strong belief in the Republican ideals of efficiency, hard work, and integrity guide him in making decisions in Town government. Prior to his election in 2006, he was a member of the Hammonton Republican Club for 20 years. Before he was elected to Council he has served on Hammonton’s Zoning Board of Adjustment for 5 years and the Municipal Utility Advisory Committee for two years.

Jerry was a leader in the push for the installation of the Clean-Flo system to clean up pollution in the Lake. He fought against the Ordinance which would have ended the convenience of leaf pick-up and bulky waste removal by the Town. He was a member of the Quality of Life Committee and the Parks & Recreation Committee. As a member of the Quality of Life committee, he was responsible for Rent Control, Shade Trees, Lake Quality, and the Environmental Commission.

Jerry is a “hands on” leader, who brings the tradition of hard work and common sense to Hammonton’s Government.
